Introducing the Service Education Research and Innovation (SERI) Initiative

The SERI Initiative is a nonprofit global organization, committed to education, knowledge, research and professional competency in an era of globalization by furthering international cooperation through multiple networks of interactions and communication. The aim of the SERI Initiative is to nurture the next generation of researchers, educators and professionals in all aspects of human and technological service endeavors. The SERI Initiative has its headquarters in Columbus, Ohio (USA) and has a global network of volunteers, academic centers and educational institutions.

Objective

Today many emerging (advancing) economies face a struggle to provide quality education, indigenous research and professionals that meet their development goals.   This is both a challenge and an opportunity for educational institutions and society as a whole in the advancing economies.  Knowledge is the recognized foundation for economic growth, human equality and global peace, and hence the importance of the role of individuals and institutions in the west in guiding and assisting individuals and institutions in the advancing economies.

We all know that without improved knowledge and innovation, no advancing  economy will be able to take advantage of the potentials around the world. Education, research and innovation is what has helped the western world to advance. We therefore think there is a great need to help teachers, researchers and professionals around the world. We therefore have established Service Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) Initiative to promote service education, research and innovations. SERI’s objective is to serve educators, researchers and professionals through various outreach programs, such as the IRSSM symposium.  Some of the outreach programs of SERI will include:

  • International Research Symposium in Service Management (IRSSM)
  • Young Service Researcher Program
  • Research and Teaching Workshops
  • Global Graduate Forum
  • Fellowship - Visiting Service Scholar
  • SERI Centers of Excellence
